8 travel hacks for awesome adventures

1. When booking flights and hotels online enable private browsing.

Travel sites often track your visits and will raise the price simply because you’ve visited before.

Travel websites often track your past searches and may hike up the rates of tickets based on your previous information. Cheat the system and go in with a clean slate to get the most basic and honest prices and save yourself some dough to later splurge on your trip.

2. Save space by rolling clothes instead of folding.

Use the rolling technique instead of folding when putting your clothes in. Not only does it save a ton of space, it also prevents your clothes from getting creased.

3. Virtual Documentation

Do one last check to make sure all your documents are in order. Losing your passport or tickets can be a nightmare on any trip. To safeguard against such an event, take scans of all your documents and email it to yourself and family members so you have easy access to them in the event of theft or loss of luggage.

4. Use Google maps offline

Google Maps is a life saver when you need directions. But using your phone’s mobile data on roaming is sure to guarantee you a hefty bill when you get back. Instead, you can use Google Maps on offline mode when you travel. When you still have internet access open the Maps to the place you want directions to and then type ‘Ok Maps’ into the search bar. This will automatically save the visible area on the Map for offline use at a later time.

5. Take some cash and don't put your wallet in your back pocket (Ever).
Wherever you are heading, do your best to convert about $100. Cash is King.

6. Charge all electronics.
Find a fun bag to house them in- being organized will save you time and energy.

7. Photographic memory aid.
It’s quite easy to get lost in a new locality. To help yourself in such an event, take pictures of the important places like your hotel, where you parked, etc. with landmarks visible in the photos. This will help jog your memory and can also act as a visual aid in case you need to ask someone for directions and don’t speak the local language.

8. If adventure is on the agenda- download a translator too.

Its always helpful to learn a few words- like please, thank you, where is and the bathroom.

And remember to have fun. Travel can be stressful but its also one of the most rewarding things to do.
